Poem #1.

The Agreeable Girl

Dear black-haired girl in class
stop agreeing
out loud
with poetry that’s
read aloud.

Stop nodding your head.
Stop going, “Hmmmm,
yes, right,”
like the imagery has touched your
soul.

Not every
verse
should change your
life.

Your every
thought
is, in fact, not
inspired.

And by the way,
your tattoos don’t
mean
anything.
