Right now I am writing a story that has some characters landing at LAX and because I’m me, I’m using the experience to tease out the character and history of LA. I’ve flown in and out of LAX before and so I remember the feeling of it, but I’m a little light on some of the physical geography. While hunting around for some memory-joggers, I found this video which is kind of startlingly beautiful. There’s no audio, so flip on some music. My Pandora happened to be playing “It Never Entered My Mind” by Ben Webster and Coleman Hawkins, which felt like just about the right soundtrack.
