Thoughts in Kilinochchi.

Right now I am reading a short story for class called “Roadkill” by an author named Romesh Gunesekera. I am only a couple pages in but so far it is about a Sri Lankan taxi driver and he is having a conversation with the assistant manager of a hotel in the town of Kilinochchi and she seems like a sharp woman and in the narrative the taxi driver says this (which I both understand and find funny):

People who have made more informed choices in their lives than I have always impress me.
