Something Salinger.

Something I know now that I didn’t know before:

J.D. Salinger landed at Utah Beach on D-Day with the first six chapters of Catcher in the Rye in his pack and he then proceeded to continue writing it while invading his way across Europe. In liberated Paris he met with Hemingway and asked him to read what he had. Hemingway* said that he liked it.

That Salinger documentary is up on Netflix now, BTW.

*A short story I wrote recently got compared to Hemingway. Just saying. I have also been compared to Kurt Vonnegut and Dr. Seuss. I’ll take it!
